viticulture canopy spraying

Radically change the way you spray

R-Series recycling sprayer

Achieve the perfect canopy coverage for your vines

Everybody has seen it, driving past a vineyard and at first glance you think there’s a fire because of the huge cloud of white…is it smoke? A tractor and sprayer appear, the sprayer still belching out further clouds of mist, most of which appear to be going anywhere but onto the vines.

Off-target drift is a problem.

It’s a problem because firstly because it’s a waste. Not only are sprays expensive, but it’s critically important that they reach their intended target to fight off pests and diseases. Every drop lost to drift is waste, it represents your money drifting away and leaving your valuable crop exposed.

It’s also a problem for the reputation of our industry. Social responsibility and accountability is increasingly important and with it the reputation our businesses have for the way we operate. Regardless of what the product is, nobody likes to see clouds of mist drifting away from a sprayer to settle where it will.

The FMR R-Series Recycling Vineyard Sprayer provides the solution, recapturing and recycling off-target drift droplets to reduce waste, overcome drift losses, save you money and save your brand’s reputation.

R-Series details

The FMR Recycling Vineyard Sprayer was designed to significantly reduce operational expenses, labour and improve disease control. With over 500 R-Series sprayers operating successfully across New Zealand, Australia and North America since 2010, the R-Series is still the only proven recapture and recycling sprayer on the market in Australasia.

What you save with the R-Series

Firstly and most obviously, the R-Series reduces off-target drift. Depending on the stage of the season, the amount of your spray that is being wasted to off-target drift can be as high as 90%. The R-Series shrouds recapture, filter and recycle this product for reuse, delivering real, substantial savings to your bottom line.

By recovering and recycling this spray, the R-Series sprays further on every tank, reducing refilling stops. In the earlier stages of the season when recovery and recycling rates are at their peak, this can result in saving multiple hours every day, getting more spraying done in less time. When the ‘weather window’ is tight, these extra hours can be the difference between getting the job done or not.

Speaking of weather, another benefit of the shrouded application system is the protection it affords from the wind. Many operators can attest to the fact that these shrouds allow them to continue spraying in wind speeds that would have long since sent other machines back to the shed.

The heart of the R-Series is the tangential fan delivery system that is used throughout the entire FMR sprayer range, providing a full ‘curtain’ of air that delivers an even, precise application of spray to the entire target surface.

Aside from the obvious operational and financial benefits of using the R-Series, the consumers drinking our wine are increasingly aware of the environmental responsibility of the brands they support. Nobody likes to see (or much less feel) spray drift, especially when you don’t know what it’s actually made up of.
The R-Series technology is proven to eliminate off-target drift.

Why risk the reputation of your brand when the solution is already offering a financial and operational gain?

When every berry counts…FMR is the right choice.
“There were times when others around me were really struggling and the consultant would come around and be amazed that our fruit was so clean when others close nearby were battling to control disease.”
Peter Law
This is the number one reason we run FMR sprayers in our business
The FMR sprayers are easy to set up and operate. No heavy PTO shaft to struggle with, just simple hydraulic connections to plug in. No constant adjustments or complex setups are needed. The FMR is essentially a plug-and-play operation.

We're able to consistently spray 40-45 hectares per day
“We believe that these sprayers give superior coverage in a wider range of conditions, with increased efficiency. Most importantly, the spray delivery is protected by the shields, minimising spray drift and we can recycle up to 25% of chemicals through the spray season”.
